French Lentil Soup, Pot au Feu, Sourdough Batard
Heat the lentil soup gently in a sauce pan.
Ditto the pot au feu ( vegetables ..with pork for omnivores) Allow it to simmer with a lid on for 3-5 minutes. Add a little water if necessary, but do not make it too brothy.
Warm the bread.
You can enjoy the dishes separately, but I think I will ladle the soup into bowls, then ladle the pot au feu combo and some broth into the center of the lentils and enjoy them together along with the bread as a sop. Good with red or white.
Pinto Bean Chili, Sweet Corn and Green Chile Succotash, Tiger Rice
Heat the chili in a microwave or stovetop. Thin as needed.
Heat a little oil in a sauté pan. When hot, add the rice. Sauté and heat through using a lid and a splash of water if desired. Portion the hot rice into a bowl for each share.
Reheat and oil the pan. When hot add the succotash. Sauté and generally cook through as per the rice. When hot and fragrant top with rice with the succotash, then top that with the beans and serve. You probably would not go astray topping with a little cheese or sour cream/ yogurt.
